Passing of Admiral Vince Morvillo

Friends and Colleagues:

It is with sadness that I share news of the recent passing of Adm. Vince Morvillo. Vince was a former member of the TNA Board of Directors and a founding member of the Hawkins Squadron in Galveston. Although he had not attended Hawkins meetings recently, his guidance and counsel in forming the Squadron in 2016 were invaluable.

Adm. Morvillo’s obituary appears below:

Vincent Louis Morvillo, Jr., of League City, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Webster, Texas at the age of 75. He was born on July 2, 1945 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Vincent Sr. and Ruth Morvillo.

Vince, What, do I say about him? He was blind since birth, but never let that stop him from doing as he pleased. He was a world class sailor, always the captain, winning so many sailing races I cannot count them all. He donated a lot of money to the Yacht Clubs so they could enjoy racing as much as he did. He was an inspiration to so many people, so he started a motivation speaking business that lasted several years. He also freely gave his money, time, and energy to help others such as helping the poor, the ill, and disabled children. He also belonged to the Yacht Brokers Association, being on their board of directors. He was an Admiral in the Texas Navy. He belonged to Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, in League City, Texas. He so loved the church and all our church family. He volunteered for anything or everything he could with the church. His calling was working with the youth group helping them to follow the Lord. He helped with moving chairs, tables, cleaning, and being a lead teacher in RCIA. He was also on the ACTS (Adoration, Community, Theology and Service) board team, as well as the retreat team. With his sailing he was inducted into the Ensign Hall of Fame, a great honor. And above all other things, he was the BEST husband anyone could ask for. Kind, caring, loving, the last 17 years were no way long enough to be married to this amazing man.

Vince is survived by his wife Margaretta, daughters Kathleen Colditz and husband Brooke, Christine Lusk and husband Tom, stepdaughters Charlotte Johnson, and fiancé Ray Bush, Crystal Wilkerson and husband Jeremy, brother John Morvillo and wife Kelli, grandchildren Caroline Colditz, Max Colditz, Marit Lusk, Granger Lusk, Mallory Wilkerson, Trevor Wilkerson and many other loving family and friends.

The Family will have visitation on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 500-6:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 6:00pm and a Rosary at 6:30pm at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1612 East Walker, League City, Texas 77573.

The funeral/ Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Kappe presiding. A private burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
