“Interesting Intelligence”

Sometimes we forget, in these days of text messages and smartphones, how difficult communication was in the days of the Texian Republic. This was especially true at sea, where even relatively close by in the Gulf of Mexico, ships might go several weeks without any news from the outside world. When a new vessel did arrive, it was immediately the subject of intense interest by all aboard.
