Texas Navy Friends and Colleagues:
Adm. Bill Turner passes along the news that a “soft opening” for the new Texas Navy exhibit aboard USS Lexington in Corpus Christi will be held at 1000 next Saturday, March 10. The short deadline was decided as the new CO of the ship wants to have it open and on the ship’s tour for the visitors they have during spring break. A more formal grand opening ceremony will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled TNA Board Meeting to be held aboard Lexington on April 14.
Bill reports that the Lexington has prepped and donated an additional 250 square feet of exhibit space, and the Ed Rachal Foundation has committed an additional $75,000 that allows us to tell more of the story of the Texas Navy.
