American Oarsmen: English Harbor

Soarsmen-finish

In just a few hours, later Wednesday evening, the American Oarsmen from Houston, Texas will enter English Harbor at Antigua, completing the 2016–17 Talisker Whisky Atlantic challenge. Since leaving Gomera on December 14, the American Oarsmen have crossed almost 2,800 nautical miles of the North Atlantic Ocean. It is an amazing accomplishment by any standard. The Charles E. Hawkins Squadron and the Texas Navy Association extend to them our most heartfelt congratulations and appreciation for carrying the Texas Navy Ensign once again upon the high seas on their three-man scull Anne. The Oarsmen will cross the finish line fourth overall, behind Latitude 35 (US), Row for James (UK), and Soulo Gav (Eire), and first among three-man entries.

Bravo Zulu!
