American Oarsmen: Hitting Their Stride

Update, January 20: On Friday morning, Texas time, the American Oarsmen edged past Facing It and into fourth place overall.

________

On Wednesday evening Texas time, the four-man scull Latitude 35 (US) arrived at English Harbor, Antigua, becoming the first finisher of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2017. In doing so, Latitude 35 set a new record for the race of 35 days, 14 hours and 3 minutes. Well done!

The American Oarsmen, from Houston, continue strong in fifth place (of twelve), with (as of Thursday morning) 873 nautical miles remaining to the finish, and pulling up to within 12 miles of the fourth-place boat, Facing It (South Africa). The Oarsmen are closing the gap, and seem to be hitting their stride in the final weeks of their run.
